Gracie C. McKeever - Multicultural, Paranormal, Erotic Romance

by Gracie C. McKeever
(Bronx, New York)

My love of the paranormal probably began with TV shows like I Dream of Jeanie, Bewitched and the Twilight Zone--all of which I was an avid fan, and all of which influenced my first published novel, New Life Incognita, a story involving psychics, wiccans and reincarnation. Eventually my love of the paranormal would branch off to include the erotic and multicultural genres in books like my first published erotic romance Beneath the Surface, a novel which spawned a series (The Matchmaker) and Guardian Seductress which spawned my second series (Sisters of Emsharra).

Rita Nashell McClendon

by Rita Nashell McClendon
(Chicago, IL USA)

My favorite romance novel is "Gone With The Wind", which is written by Margaret Mitchell. I especially like the feisty Scarlett O'Hara and Rhett Butler's on and off relationship. She was truly a woman before her time during the postbellum period in America.

I find it interesting that it is rumored that Mitchell implemented some experiences of her own life as "Margaret Mitchell: American Rebel Premiere" states: "The seminal events of Mitchell’s life are revealed through dramatic re-enactments based on her letters, and scenes from the movie will connect Mitchell’s life to her work".

Missy Martine

(San Jose, California)

Anna Doubles Down

Anna Doubles Down

Missy was born, and raised in the great southern state of Tennessee. In her youth, she studied nursing, and spent several happy years working in the hospitals there.

She retired from working in 2002 and it wasn’t long before her husband was encouraging her to find some kind of outlet to occupy her time, something that was challenging, and rewarding. She was already obsessed with reading about romance, and began to think she could probably write a good, romantic story. Her husband heartily agreed. With that encouragement, she began writing her first book. She wasn’t really convinced that anyone else would find it interesting, but he pressed her to take a chance and send it in to a publisher. To her surprise, it was accepted, and now she's able to share it with readers everywhere who like a “happily ever after” story.
Today, she's living in California with her, still romantic, husband of twelve years, and their boys. Their boys consist of Beau, Midnight, and Bubba, three male cats that allow them to serve them at their leisure. She continues to write almost daily, hoping that someone, somewhere will get the same enjoyment from reading her stories, that she gets from writing them.

She's published with Siren/Bookstrand with: Table for Three and its sequel Catch Her When She Falls, also A Wolfen Heritage Trilogy - Discovering Her Wolfen Heritage, Denying His Wolfen Heritage, and Changing Their Wolfen Heritage. Coming soon is a western menage called "Anna Doubles Down" You can check out her books at www.missymartine.com

She now resides in Perth, Western Australia, and lives by the coast with her husband of thirty five years. Her favourite genre is inspirational and historical romance and tries to capture the thrill of chase, which she thinks is sadly lacking in the romances of today.

Mia Marlowe

Much of what Mia Marlowe knows about storytelling she learned from singing. A classically trained soprano, she won the District Metropolitan Opera Auditions. She’s sung at Carnegie Hall and shared a stage with the likes of operatic star Placido Domingo. Because of her stage experience, she totally identifies with her fictional heroines. After all, she’s worn a corset and bumroll and had to sing high C’s at the same time. She knows what it’s like to shiver in a Parisian garret with a poor, but lusty lover or outsmart a lord who’s intent on taking too many liberties with the help.

Mia Marlowe writes historical romance for Kensington Brava. Look for her debut TOUCH OF A THIEF (May 2011) and her novella in the July 2011 anthology IMPROPER GENTLEMEN. See why BooksMonthly proclaims Mia “the mistress of saucy historical romance.” For more, please visit www.miamarlowe.com.

Gillian Morgan

Gillian Morgan

Gillian Morgan

Lucy Walter, the eponymous heroine of the novel, was the 'bold, nut-brown and beautiful' mistress of Charles 11. She was brought up eight miles from where I live in Haverfordwest, Pembrokeshire, Wales. The late Diana, Princess of Wales, was a descendant. When Charles and Diana married, I pondered the story of the young seventeenth century girl from Wales who became feted throughout Europe. Researching the novel, I discovered my husband was loosely related and I just had to write the story. It is a love story primarily and it is about young love played out against the background of the Civil Wars that raged through England when king (Charles 1) and Parliament clashed. More than anything, it is one of the greatest Royal love stories of all time.

Excerpt from "Lucy Walter":

'May I introduce Lucy Walter?' asked Lady Herbert.

Lucy found herself gazing into a pair of the deepest brown eyes she had ever seen. Whilst she could not claim the man was handsome, yet his presence was compelling. Furthermore, she had felt him watching her every move that evening.

'Robert Sydney at your sevice, Ma'am'.

'Colonel Robert Sydney', added Lady Herbert.

Lucy felt her hand being grasped firmly, her pulse quickening and a faint flush spreading across her cheeks.

Noticing her consternation, her companion extended his arm. 'It is somewhat warm in here. May I suggest we repair to the balcony?'

Casting an apologetic glance in the direction of her godmother, who smiled fondly at her, Lucy allowed her new acquaintance to escort her through the large doors at the far end of the ballroom and outside into the cool evening air.

Candlelight from crystal chandeliers spilled out through the long windows, shining on the canal below. There was just enough light for Lucy to see something was amusing Robert Sydney.

'So. I am in the presence of Lucy Walter. Shame that my brother, Algernon, was forced to put duty to his country before his own pleasure'.

Lucy's heart sank. It was as she feared. 'Algernon Sydney?' she whispered.

'Aye, the very same Algernon Sydney.'

Seeing Lucy's distress, he pulled her to him, roughly.

'The Algernon Sydney who paid your father fifty broad pieces so that he could own you'.

Lucy bit her lip and lowered her head.

'Don't play the innocent with me', he warned.

Putting his finger beneath her chin, he forced her face upwards and was about to lower his mouth on hers when instinct came to her rescue. Robert Sydney was too large for her to push away. Instead, she brought her foot down firmly on his toes.

Yelping, he fell back against the wall. Lucy dare not look for a moment, but when she did she saw that Colonel Sydney was laughing helplessly.

After a while he recovered himself. 'I'll say this for you, Lucy Walter, you are a spirited wench'.
