I watch you as you sleep
Cozy in your nest of blankets
Childlike and serene.
No worry or care to crease your slumbering brow.
The sweet little boy you left far in the past
Lies dreaming on your pillow.

Within my heart I feel such unspeakable
Tenderness
To see you so exposed,
Innocent.
Your secret self
Revealed to me as you sleep.

The weight of the world is far away from your shoulders
Now...
You float
Sigh and smile
In your carefree otherworld.
At peace beside me
the innocent
the man child
my Beloved.

Every day
I find new ways to love you-
I love the man
I love the boy
I love you
You are my heart and my life.

I am still amazed at the intensity of my love for you.
It rises up in me like a fountain and spills over-
Will my love ever reach its zenith?
I think not.
Loving cup? Nay!
Loving Barrel - Loving Lake - Loving Sea-
An ocean of love I have for you-
I gladly drown in this Sea of Love.

Love Poems and Romantic Writing

I wrote this for D. last May for Valentine's Day. (oops!) It just took a lot longer to write than I had planned! He was very touched by it.

It reminded me that ANYTIME is a good time to write a romantic poem to your beloved! So if your romantic writing doesn't go as planned, just give your sweetheart your romantic love poem whenever you DO finish it.
