Ilsa: "Play it once, Sam. For old times' sake."
Sam: [lying] "I don't know what you mean, Miss Ilsa."
Ilsa: "Play it, Sam. Play 'As Time Goes By.'"
Sam: [lying] "Oh, I can't remember it, Miss Ilsa. I'm a little rusty on it."
Ilsa: "I'll hum it for you. Da-dy-da-dy-da-dum, da-dy-da-dee-da-dum..."
[Sam begins playing]
Ilsa: "Sing it, Sam."
Sam: [singing] "You must remember this / A kiss is still a kiss / A sigh is just a sigh / The fundamental things apply / As time goes by. / And when two lovers woo, / They still say, "I love you" / On that you can rely / No matter what the future brings-..."
Rick: [rushing up] "Sam, I thought I told you never to play-..."
[Sees Ilsa. Sam closes the piano and rolls it away]
Captain Renault: "I was informed you were the most beautiful woman ever to visit Casablanca. That was a gross understatement."
Ilsa: "I can't fight it anymore. I ran away from you once. I can't do it again. Oh, I don't know what's right any longer. You have to think for both of us. For all of us."
Rick: "All right, I will. Here's looking at you, kid."
Ilsa: [smiles] "I wish I didn't love you so much."
Ilsa: [laughs ironically] "With the whole world crumbling, we pick this time to fall in love."
Rick: "Yeah, it's pretty bad timing."
Ilsa: "Kiss me. Kiss me as if it were the last time."
Luc Clairmont: [at confession] "Each time I tell myself it's the last time, but then I get a whiff of her hot chocolate, or..."
Madame Audel: "...Seashells. Chocolate seashells, so small, so plain, so innocent. I thought, oh, just one little taste, it can't do any harm. But it turned out they were filled with rich, sinful..."
Yvette Marceau: "...And it melts, God forgive me, it melts ever so slowly on your tongue, and tortures you with pleasure."
Vianne Rocher: "And these are for your husband. Unrefined cacao nips from Guatemala, to awaken the passions."
Yvette Marceau: "Psshh. You've obviously never met my husband."
Vianne Rocher: "Well, you've obviously never tried these."
Yvette Marceau: "Do you have more of those bean thingies, please?"
Vianne Rocher: "Oh, sure. Um... How many do you want?"
Yvette Marceau: "How many have you got?"
"Love is a temporary madness. It erupts like an earthquake and then subsides. And when it subsides you have to make a decision. You have to work out whether your roots have become so entwined together that it is inconceivable that you should ever part. Because this is what love is. Love is not breathlessness, it is not excitement, it is not the promulgation of promises of eternal passion. That is just being "in love" which any of us can convince ourselves we are."
"Love itself is what is left over when being in love has burned away, and this is both an art and a fortunate accident. Your mother and I had it, we had roots that grew towards each other underground, and when all the pretty blossoms had fallen from our branches we found that we were one tree and not two."
"You can be anywhere when your life begins. You meet the right person and anything is possible."
Nicole: "You can be anywhere when your life begins. When the future opens up in front of you. And you may not even realize it at first, but it's already happening."
"So, this is love... so, this is love. So, this is what makes life real good. I'm all aglow... and now I know, the key towards heaven is love..."
Cinderella: [singing] "A dream is a wish your heart makes when you're fast asleep. In dreams you will lose your heartaches. Whatever you wish for, you keep. Have faith in your dreams, and someday, your rainbow will come smiling through. No matter how your heart is grieving, if you keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true."
"I would rather be a ghost drifting by your side as a condemned soul than enter heaven without you. Because of your love, I will never be a lonely spirit."
"I want to tell you with my last breath that I have always loved you."
Casanova: "I've never sought glory as a lover."
Sister Beatrice: "What then, senor Casanova, do you seek?"
Casanova: "A moment that lasts a lifetime."
Francesca Bruni: "Give me a man who is man enough to give himself just to the woman who is worth him. If that woman were me I would love him alone and forever."
Adam Canfield: "Well, what did you expect me to say? That a pretty girl with an outrageous manner means more to an old pro like me than a quarter of a million dollars?"
Reggie Lampert: "I don't suppose so."
Adam Canfield: "Well, it's a toss-up, I can tell you that."
Reggie Lampert: "What did you say?"
Adam Canfield: "Hasn't it occurred to you that I'm having a tough time keeping my hands off you?"
[Regina is stunned]
Adam Canfield: "Oh, you should see your face."
Reggie Lampert: "What's the matter with it?"
Adam Canfield: "It's lovely."
[Regina drops her knife and fork]
Adam Canfield: What's the matter now?
Reggie Lampert: "I'm not hungry anymore; isn't it glorious?"
"She batted them pretty little eyes at you, and you fell for it like an egg from a tall chicken!"
